Riverside Methodist Hospital, a member of the OhioHealth system, is the leading tertiary hospital in central Ohio in terms of volume and market share. Long recognized as the more preferred hospital in the region, Riverside’s reputation has been built on a tradition of outstanding patient care delivered by an exceptional team of medical experts. But the hospital’s cardiovascular market share had been dropping steadily in outlying referral markets where their competitors had invested additional marketing resources.

Through extensive research with administrators and physicians, Fahlgren uncovered several fascinating patient stories in which the hospital’s innovations and outstanding physicians had saved their lives. By featuring these patients and physicians in television, in print and online Fahlgren struck an emotional chord. Prior to the campaign launch average monthly volume in the critical limb care program was 53 patients. After only six months of the campaign monthly visits increased to 132.
